MWS weighing technology featured on BBC’s Inside the Factory

The company’s PakChk Check Weigher appeared in BBC’s Inside the Factory as presenter Cherry Healey explored how Long Clawson Dairy creates its iconic Stilton blue cheese.

Long Clawson Dairy, one of only a handful of dairies licensed to produce Stilton, a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product, is renowned for its rich heritage and commitment to quality.

In the episode, Cherry joined the team to see the full cheesemaking process, from curdling the milk to weighing the curds before they’re shaped. This step is crucial for helping the blue mould grow evenly as the cheese matures.

This is where the PakChk Check Weigher from MWS came in. Cherry used the system with help from the company’s easy-to-follow software, which shows operators how much curd to add. The screen turns green when the right weight is reached, making the process quick and accurate.

Manufactured entirely in the UK, the PakChk system is built from stainless steel for hygiene and durability. Designed for demanding food production environments, it simplifies weight control while meeting strict industry standards.
