A Great Big Green Co-op litter pick
The Co-op is urging firms based on the Drum Industrial Estate to help clean up the park’s streets.
As part of the annual Great Big Green Week, the Co-op is calling on people to join a litter pick taking place on Wednesday 14 June.
Co-op colleagues and young people from Skills4Work have so far confirmed their attendance.
Sarah Skillen, Engagement Coordinator at the Co-op is organising the litter pick and is urging businesses based on the Estate to also join in. She said: “Now in its third year, Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest call for action on climate change and to protect nature and we’re looking forward to supporting this important cause with a litter pick.
As well as cleaning up the streets on the Estate it will be a great chance to network with nearby businesses.
“We’ll be meeting on the corner by the chip van beside the Co-Operative Food Supply Chain Logistics warehouse at 10am and will work our way along the estate. Anyone who would like to support our colleagues at the Co-op by taking part or organise their own litter pick at the same time, can get in touch.”
