Durham Christian Partnership marks five years at Drum Industrial Estate

Durham Christian Partnership (DCP) is celebrating five years being based at the Drum Industrial Estate where it operates its regional foodbanks from, and has become a vital lifeline for local people in crisis across County Durham and Sunderland.

The DCP food banks offer emergency food parcels and practical support to help individuals and families rebuild their lives. Each person is helped with food along with daily essentials and guidance to local services including energy and money advice.

Since being located on the Drum Estate, DCP has assisted around 150,000 people, including over 45,000 children, through its 35 food distribution points across the region. Its mission is to ensure that no one in County Durham or Sunderland goes hungry.

Glenn Jones, Trustee, said: “We have a dedicated workforce and are supported by an incredible and vital team of volunteers who generously give their time and energy to help us do what we do. We are also deeply grateful for the ongoing support of our neighbours and the wider community; we simply couldn’t do this work without them.”

As it celebrates its fifth anniversary, DCP remains committed to meeting the growing demand for assistance and supporting vulnerable individuals and families throughout the region.

Fiona Pallister, Fundraising Officer at DCP added: “Every donation and every volunteer hour makes a real difference. It’s the combined effort of our team and our community that allows us to continue this work and make a real difference in local people’s lives.”
