DurhamWorks launches The Workplaces Project – a new initiative for County Durham students

The project aims to help Year 10 and Year 12 students in County Durham gain an insight into the world of work and to find out more about the skills and characteristics that employers value.

Through visits to workplaces and school visits it will demonstrate to the students personal and employer standards and expectations to equip them with vital employability skills.

The team will help build the confidence and belief of the students so they can identify, and subsequently, successfully apply for roles they might not otherwise have known were available or achievable.

The groups who are going to benefit from these visits, are relatively small (12 max) and will be staffed efficiently and effectively.

The employers who accept the invitation to work will help improve the understanding and knowledge of young people in the communities in which they operate.

To find out more or to arrange an initial face to face visit, please contact Amanda Leslie on 07769243053 or amanda.leslie@durham.gov.uk
