Fresh appeal to quit smoking and save money as Stoptober starts
It’s never too late to quit smoking – that’s the message of the Stoptober campaign, which runs through the month of October.
Business Durham together with Durham County Council Public Health is backing the Stoptober campaign, which highlights the risks of smoking and is urging businesses to remind employees about the health and financial benefits of quitting.
Stopping smoking can bring benefits to almost anyone at any age as the body begins to recover within hours, days, and weeks.
As well as improving health, stopping will save money and can help reduce stress and anxiety.
the County Durham Stop Smoking Service offers 12-week individual quit programmes for those living or working in County Durham.
The service works alongside the NHS, local pharmacies, and a range of other organisations to support individual’s journeys to becoming smoke free.
