Heel & Toe Children’s Charity calls for fundraising participants to support hydrotherapy pool
Heel & Toe Children’s Charity, which supports children with disabilities and complex needs across the North East, is appealing for public participation in a series of fundraising challenges.
Events include the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge and the Great North Run.
The charity aims to raise £60,000 to maintain its unique Hydrotherapy Pool in Perkinsville, an essential facility that provides therapeutic support to children in need.
Based in Pelton near the Drum Industrial Estate, Heel & Toe offers free and subsidised therapy but receives no government funding, relying entirely on public support and fundraising initiatives.
Mandy Hammond, Community Fundraiser, said: “These donations help us raise much-needed funds. Public involvement is crucial to ensuring that children with disabilities in the North East continue to have access to vital hydrotherapy sessions.”
Heel & Toe is inviting supporters to take on one of several upcoming challenges:
- Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. Ingleborough, Yorkshire, Saturday 5th July. Registration fee £25, minimum sponsorship £149.
- Great North 10K. Newcastle Town Moor, Sunday 6th July. Registration fee £20, minimum sponsorship £99.
- Great North Run Mini/Junior. Quayside Newcastle, Saturday 6th September. Registration fee £7.50, minimum sponsorship £50.
- Great North Run Half Marathon. Newcastle to South Shields, Sunday 7th September. Registration fee £40, minimum sponsorship £299.
