‘Hidden gem’ printing firm announces local expansion plans ahead of silver anniversary

Ahead of its 25th anniversary this year, a Durham-based print and design company servicing customers throughout the country, has announced plans to boost its presence in the local area.

Pbl Print is a leading print provider based in Chester-le-Street with an established client base of print management companies, the public sector, and businesses throughout the UK and abroad. This includes the NHS, a range of banks and insurance brokers, Marks and Spencer, Jet2, and Sunderland Football Club.

To mark 25 years of successful trading the company, which has an annual turnover of £5m, will also expand its product lines that can be tailored to client needs, while continuing to invest in technology and its 50-strong workforce.

Sales director, Chris Murley, said: “We’ve been very much a hidden gem in our local area as we have spent the last 25 years successfully building a core portfolio of client based across the country while nurturing our workforce, investing in technology, and putting in place excellent print production facilities and standards.”

The company was set up in 1999 by Managing Director Eric Stevenson, who operated from a small unit in Southwick, Sunderland for the first few years. After a stint at Washington Pattinson Industrial Estate, the business settled in its current location at Angel Park on the Drum Industrial Estate near Chester-le-Street,12 years ago.

Chris added: “We are very proud of our quarter of a century industry experience and the investments we have made, not only in our staff, technology, and machinery but also in our 35,000 square foot premises to establish it as a flexible one-stop-shop for all print needs, right from design to mailing end products.

“We wanted to do something to mark these achievements along with our intention to make connections closer to home. Part of this is to make our silver anniversary the year that local businesses will discover our range of creative solutions, from brochure and banner design and print to books, magazines, and catalogues, that are located right on their doorstep. We believe there is an enormous opportunity for us here.”

All businesses based on the Drum Industrial Estate can receive a 25 percent discount offer for any orders made during 2023.
