Lidl wants to open new stores in County Durham

The budget supermarket chain is seeking to establish new outlets in Chester-le-Street, Darlington, Newton Aycliffe, Seaham, Sedgefield, and Stanley.

The German retailer is seeking to establish stores in over a thousand locations throughout the country.

The company is targeting town centres, retail parks, and independent sites for these new stores.

Lidl currently has more than 980 stores and 14 regional distribution centres across Britain, employing over 34,000 people.
