National Training Provider Graded Outstanding By Ofsted

Learning Curve Group (LCG) subsidiary, Antrec Training, rated outstanding overall by Ofsted in most recent inspection.

Ofsted graded the provision outstanding and commented: “Learners clearly benefit, both personally and professionally, from the diverse range of high-quality courses available to them.”

Learning Curve Group develops training programmes in areas which respond to national skills needs. They work closely with employers and local authorities to identify skills gaps and provide the training solution to help employers with recruitment and get more people into work.

LCG has now received five Ofsted inspections since November 2021, with its LCG contract and others achieving at least a ‘Good’ rating with a significant volume of Outstanding elements.

In this latest inspection, the training provider received Outstanding in all areas inspected including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and education programmes for young people and apprenticeships.

Brenda McLeish OBE DL, Chief Executive Officer at LCG said: “I am delighted to be graded Outstanding in our recent Ofsted inspection. At Learning Curve Group our mission is to transform lives through learning by giving people the skills and knowledge to succeed. So, it is incredibly important to us that we are continuing to meet high quality standards of education.

I am very thankful to our ‘Purple People’ who have worked so hard to ensure we achieved Outstanding in this inspection. Five of LCG’s entities have been inspected since November 2021, all achieving at least Good, but this really was the culmination of our amazing culture.

“One of our key pieces of feedback from this inspection was that ‘Learners often progress to further qualifications or training as a result.’ which is extremely important to us as we strive to give people opportunities to transform their lives.”

LCG are dedicated to keeping their learners at the centre of everything they do, which includes supporting learners who may be facing multiple barriers to learning.

The Ofsted report highlighted “Learners, many of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds and have family and caring responsibilities, feel a great sense of accomplishment, often overcoming challenging personal circumstances to achieve their qualifications.”

“Learners clearly benefit, both personally and professionally, from the diverse range of courses available to them. Learners develop a very good understanding of how to keep healthy, both physically and mentally.”

The training provider has experienced incredible growth this year and has over 1,000 members of dedicated employees who call themselves ‘Purple People’. “Staff are appreciative of the flexibility and rewards of their working environment. They take an active part in initiatives that the organisation has in place, such as nominating each other for awards and recognition.”

LCG offer a range of training programmes for learners across the country, including apprenticeships, online courses, face-to-face programmes at their academies, traineeships, and study programmes.

The training provider supports over 200,000 learners every year to learn new skills. Ofsted commented that “Learners benefit from exceptionally high-quality resources. These resources include workbooks and assessment booklets as well as interactive online learning packages which enable learners to develop the knowledge and skills that they need to progress.”

Ofsted highlighted in a previous inspection of Learning Curve Group’s contract that “Tutors support learners and apprentices well, and encourage them to take pride and care in their work, which is presented clearly and professionally. Learners benefit from a well-planned careers programme that begins with taster sessions to ensure that they are on the right course. During their course, the support that learners receive ensures that they are prepared well for their next steps.”

The award winning training provider have already achieved their mission to transform one million lives through learning – but they aren’t stopping there. The training provider is continuously developing their provision and employer links to reach more learners, make education more accessible and ensure they are providing high quality training.

Antrec Training were acquired by Learning Curve Group in March 2021 and have since been integrated into the Group and operated as Learning Curve Group.
