Volunteer van driver needed at Durham Foodbank
Durham Foodbank is seeking a volunteer van driver to join its team, supporting vital deliveries and collections.
Based at Unit 7/9 First Avenue on Drum Industrial Estate in Chester-le-Street, the foodbank plays a central role in getting emergency food to people in crisis across the region.
The foodbank is seeking someone aged 25 or over with a full UK driving licence. The role involves collecting and delivering donations every Thursday morning, as well as assisting with loading and unloading.
Durham Foodbank, part of a nationwide network of food banks supported by Trussell, does not operate as a collection point and takes food donations only.
In addition to volunteers, the foodbank is also calling on the public to donate urgently needed items, including long life fruit juice, coffee, tinned fruit, rice pudding, jam or preserves, and toiletries.
These essentials are in short supply and are vital to supporting individuals and families facing hardship.
