Weighing company’s northern division key for scaling success

Micro Weighing Solutions (MWS), which designs and manufactures industrial scales, located its northern operations to the Drum Industrial Estate in Chester-Le-Street to support nationwide operations, aid growth plans, and provide dedicated services for its growing client base in the area.

Headed up by UK Service Manager, Gary Pook, the MWS North East Service Centre grew its field-based engineering team to four and boosted profits by 120 percent as it enjoyed significant increase in sales of its UK manufactured weighing scales alongside new service and calibration contracts.

Gary said: “We are delighted with the performance of the northern division, which has been a key part in the delivery of our overall growth plans.

“We responded swiftly to meet intense demand whilst maintaining the excellent levels of service our customers expect. This helped us position the Northern division of MWS to explore new opportunities and further lift our reputation as a quality scales manufacturer for some of the largest UK businesses across sectors including chemical, food, pharmaceutical and logistics, as well as the weighing industry itself.”

The company, which also operates from a 17,000 square foot factory in Leicester, boasts a team of 30 people across its manufacturing, service, and sales departments.

Providing nationwide service and calibration for all weighing equipment, MWS is accredited to ISO 9001 and UKAS ISO 17025.
