Chester-le-Street charity gears up to host Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory themed ball

This year’s fundraising ball for Heel and Toe children’s charity will be held at the Hilton Hotel, Gateshead on Friday 25 November. The event is a chance for people to go along and indulge in a spectacular evening while supporting a great cause.

Guests can expect an evening of pure imagination hosted by the charity’s Patron and North East entertainer, Steve Walls.

As well as entertainment, there will also be a three-course meal and drinks reception and guests will have the opportunity to win raffles prizes.

All proceeds made from the evening will go towards providing therapy for hundreds of children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities from across the region.

The charity provides conductive education, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, massage and movement therapy and hydrotherapy, delivered by highly qualified paediatric therapists operating from two specially adapted buildings.

Mandy Hammond, Community Fundraiser at the charity, is appealing for raffle prizes from the local business community. Mandy’s daughter, Chloe, was one of the first children to receive therapy with the charity when it was set up 14 years ago and she is also a Heel and Toe Ambassador.

Mandy said: “Heel and Toe is a wonderful charity close to my heart, which supports hundreds of children and young people, and their families, with a variety of therapies.

“As we don’t receive any government funding, we rely solely on donations and fundraising. Raffle prizes at our events raise huge amounts for our children at Heel and Toe Children’s Charity and we’re incredibly grateful to those who have generously donated prizes for our raffle and to everyone who has already bought a ticket for the event.

“The countdown is now on with just under a month to go, but there’s still time to support the event by donating raffle prizes for the night, or by purchasing a ticket. We know it will be a spectacular evening to remember!”

If you can donate, please contact mandy@heelandtoe.org.uk or on 07952894470.
